Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!
If you are the kind of bride that I was, you want a wedding that expresses your relationship and your personality. You want something sophisticated, unique and special. You do not want to copy your best friends wedding, and you do not want to recreate your mother's wedding. Finally, you want to know that all of the above is do-able while staying within your budget. I know that this is a huge challenge, but with someone looking out for you, it CAN be done!
The term "Indie Wedding" can be interpreted in many ways and frankly, it can be a little bit intimidating. An indie wedding does not necessarily mean that the groomsmen have to wear chuck taylors, or that the bride is forbidden from wearing a white dress! There is nothing wrong with tradition. However, you should feel free to pick and choose the traditions that you want to incorporate into your wedding. Some weddings are pink and frilly, and some weddings are Halloween themed. However, most modern weddings fall somewhere in the middle. You don't need to choose one side. Instead, take a look at each component separately, investigate alternative options like using an independent vendor or trying to DIY and choose something that speaks to you.
This blog features ideas for the modern couple. We love independent vendors at all price points, businesses that are GREEN, new designers that give 110% to their work, and wedding ideas that will set you apart from the crowd. The Indie Wedding is classy, original thoughtful.
If you know of a great indie vendor who deserves recognition, or just want to drop me a line about wedding trends, your own wedding, or you have any questions, please feel free! This is a new blog and as it grows, I hope that you will help contribute with details from your own wedding!
